UFC FIGHT NIGHT: FRANCIS NGANNOU VS JUNIOR DOS SANTOS

  • ALH Sports Bar Near You (map)

One of the most anticipated heavyweight fights of the year now has a new home and an even bigger positioning on the card. After Tyron Woodley was forced to pull out of his rematch with Robbie Lawler after suffering a hand injury, the highly anticipated bout between Francis Ngannou and Junior Dos Santos has been moved forward as a replacement.

After faltering in his first crack at the Heavyweight belt against then-champ Stipe Miocic at UFC 220 in January, Francis ‘Predator’ Nagannou (13-3-0) has rebuilt himself into a top contender. Back-to-back knockouts of ex-champion Cain Velasquez and Curtis Blaydes have done wonders for Ngannou’s reputation. He’ll be heading into this bout, knowing what the result could mean if he is victorious, a potential shot at another title.

Junior ‘Cigano’ Dos Santos (21-5-0) currently sits at #3 in the heavyweight division, and is well on his way to regaining the title he held between November 2011 and December 2012. Coming off a three match winning streak, Dos Santos is very much of the opinion that a win over Ngannou will provide that opportunity for another challenge at the title, he very much believes to be his.
