UFC Fight Night: Holm vs Vieira

  • Sports Bar Near You (map)

Holm is back! This May the former champion will step back into the Octagon for the first time in more than a year, as she looks to extend her two fight streak. She was booked to fight on multiple occasions, but due to injuries, opted out. Opposing her will be Ketlen Vieira, who also looks to snag a victory after recently defeating Miesha Tate. Which of these fighters will bring it home?

Currently ranked #2, Holm last fought in October 2020 against Irene Aldana. Holm took the win by unanimous decision, proving that she’s still championship material. Prior, she also defeated Raquel Pennington. It was a 2015 rematch for the pair, and no doubt a sweeter win for Holm.

However Holm has been between victories and losses in her six last outings at the Octagon (14-5), with three of the six fights being opportunities to gain the title belt. She looks to regain momentum despite not gaining consecutive fights since smashing Ronda Rousey roughly five years back. Has she still got what it takes?

Meanwhile Ketlen Vieira also looks for a title fight as she works her way up. Her recent win over Miesha Tate via unanimous decision takes her one step closer to that title shot. Prior she’s had alternating wins and losses over her last four fights. She won against Sijara Eubanks by unanimous decision, but was defeated by Yana Kunitskaya and Irene Aldana. Before her loss to Aldana, she didn’t drop a fight and held a solid four-fight streak.

Will Vieira turn the tables against Holm?

Co-headlining the fight will be Santiago Ponzinibbio and Michel Pereira in a Welterweight bout. Also joining them will be Eryk Anders and Jun Yong Park in a Middleweight bout.
