UFC Auckland is shaping up to be a heated contest, with Paul Fedler and Dan Hooker taking their bad blood into the octagon in February 2020.

Just days after their lightweight headliner was booked for February, Felder travelled to New Zealand for media obligations and a face-off with Hooker, where there was an incredible intensity between the two during their heated staredown.

It has Felder, also known as “The Irish Dragon” all kinds of fired up. He says there was nothing fabricated about the heat with Hooker, the stakes of the match up are just so high.

“As far as intensity, that was real. I went down to New Zealand expective a little bit of that from Dan because of how we interacted on social media. We went back and forth a little bit.

But that’s what it’s all about. We’re two guys that are trying to rally for a title shot after this one. We’re in each other’s way. That’s how it should be, that’s how it’s supposed to be when you’ve got a five-round main event with a guy.

I’m invading into his country. My whole plan is to knock his ass out in front of all his friends and family and take that money and get out of there and go on to a title shot.”

As for Dan Hooker, he mirrors Felder’s comments.

“It is what it is, there’s a lot on the line for both of us. It is intense, so you’ve just got to show it. I feel like some lines have been crossed, so let’s sort it out.

Show me respect you get respect, show me disrespect I'll mirror the same thing back.”

Hooker is on a two-win streak, after knocking out James Vick at UFC San Antonio last July. He then went on to beat Al Iaquinta for three rounds to sweep all judge scorecards at UFC 243.

Felder is also on a two-win streak, capturing a split decision win over Edson Barboza, a rematch from their 2015 affair that ended in his favour. Prior to this Felder also took on James Vick, where he too, took the win.

Rounding out this card is welterweight contenders, Jake Matthews and Emil Meek, while light heavyweight fighter Tyson Pedro takes on Vinicius Moreira.
